Robben Just Enough for Holland
Arjen Robben’s first half goal was just enough to get the Netherlands past Serbia Montenegro 1-0
Just as advertised, the Serbia Montenegro defense was solid and kept the match tight and entertaining, but the class team won. This, so-called by some–including me, Group of Death, is now shaping up to be a battle for the top spot. A battle Argentina should win, but the Dutch are solid and should do some damage in this tournament now that the team is built more around the talent than egos.

Or maybe not. What do the Dutch players do after a fairly straightforward win as their young star Arjen Robben ran free all day and had a good game–hitting the only goal? Take him out for a beer? Vow to step up their own performances for the next match?
Of course not. As usual, they immediately whine to the media about Robben being a ball hog. This is after a win. Some things never change. They can’t stand success, just wait until they face the least little bit of adversity. The implosion is immanent. Again.
